Non-stop references to &quot;hardcore&quot; and &quot;metalcore&quot;, if you NEED to place them in a scene or movement within rock and metal music then you clearly haven&#039;t listened and understood the album.

The Blackening, while not doing anything particularly new or &quot;groundbreaking&quot; (Come on, when was the last time you heard a &quot;groundbreaking&quot; sound? Something that changes how we view a certain type of music for the better, the 70&#039;s?) is still a fantastic album, and even though i&#039;m loathe to use the word as it&#039;s been used so much in reference to this album, The Blackening is a masterpiece</description>
